Joanne is a Klang girl through and through. There's a charm that keeps pulling her back — perhaps it's just her Klang pride talking, perhaps it's the mix of decades-old heritage and the new, or maybe it's just the nostalgia of a place she calls home.
She hopes everyone can see the beauty of Klang. (Jeremy certainly did 😛) So we'd love to help you plan a day trip to Klang when you come visit us. Take it as a trip off the beaten path. But say first ah — we are not foodies guys! These may not be the best in Klang, but we enjoy them la 🙆♀️
Where we have lunch
Taman Intan (walking distance from Vit C)
- All the best bak kut teh are right here! You can't really go wrong with any of them.
- Restoran Ashvin - Honestly, it's just a neighborhood mamak but we kept going back for their roti telur and dahl For us, it's better than an average mamak.
- Restoran Hakka Delight - Okay, we may be a little biased here because Jo used to come here often during her high school days. Still, you should try their noodles with vege curry.
- Black Fire Kitchen - Their flavors are quite unique, but what surprised us is their longan lime drink!! Amazinggg on a hot day
Taman Berkely (5 min from Vit C)
- Mr Lee Restaurant - We love chicken rice and this is our go-to lunch spot
- Restoran Laden - Their Hainanese chicken chop is freshly fried and comes with gravy, not sweet ketchup sauce
- Mofika - Most decent coffee and cafe you can get around the area!
- Pak Village Cafe - Most decent kopi you can get around the area! Tie guan yin cham? We love it heh
- Bakery Cake House - A bakery that feels frozen in time. Cream puffs, fruit tarts, cakes that is so old school you'll travel back in time
- Mun Zai Bentong Roastery - The.duck.rice.gais
Jalan Goh Hock Huat (10 min from Vit C)
- Daigu Coffee - If dark roast coffee is your thing, you don't want to miss this! Watching the barista preparing your coffee is a ritual in itself
- KITA Kopitiam - Their nasi lemak ayam goreng berempah is something we kept going back for
