Notes from Lem Tee Sin :

Lem Tee Sin is a Malaysian environmental artist whose practice spans painting, installation, sculpture, eyewear design, and collective art-making. His work is structured around three major series—Lin (Forest), Zi (Resources), and Shen (Deep Breath). Lin (Forest) series reflects on ecosystems, endangered species, and the life cycles of trees and deadwood, exploring the vitality and fragility of forest environments. Zi (Resources) series emphasizes the circulation, reuse, and regeneration of materials, addressing ecological sustainability through processes of transformation and re-creation. Shen (Deep Breath) series employs “deep breath” as a metaphor to call for and gather individuals willing to collaborate. Grounded in mutual respect, this series develops Art La Mak as a model of collective co-creation and shared artistic practice. These series form an interconnected framework, linking ecology, material resources, and human collaboration
